Anton Schneider first started making cuckoo clocks in 1848 in his Schonach farmhouse. The family business has been passed down from generation to generation, however all Schneider cuckoo clocks have been produced in their current factory since 1852. This tradition filled work space inspires their clock designs, while holding onto the original high quality craftsmanship Schneider clocks have been known for from the very beginning.

The clock factory of Anton Schneider has been expanded 7 times since their beginning, and have grown into one of the most modern and largest cuckoo clock factories in the Black Forest. This growth has also meant the capacity to manufacture more Schneider clocks of more diverse styles, but the old tradition of hand carving clock pieces has been maintained and even improved upon.
In the town of Schonach, there has always been a connection between people and nature and how they interact. The residents of Schonach therefore take very good care of the environment around them, and this carries into the Schneider cuckoo clock making process, sourcing many of their materials from the black forest area. Schneider was awarded the "Cuckoo Clock of the Year Award" in both 2007 nd 2014.
