Adolf Herr cuckoo clocks are handmade using locally sourced linden wood and brass movements from the Black forest. Adolf Herr continues in the tradition of fine German cuckoo clock making through six generations. In fact, it was Adolf Herr's ancestor, Johann Hiller who built Black Forest clocks in the 1780s, then passed his skills on to his son in law, Johann Baptist Rainer, born in 1763, then to his son in law, Christian Herr, who was born in 1814 and followed in the family's footsteps. more....
From there, each generation of clockmaker passed down their skills and experience from father to son. Christian Herr taught Bernhard Herr, who taught Robert Herr, who taught Rudolf Herr. Born to Rudolf Herr and Gerlinde Eble, herself a daughter from a long line of clockmakers, Adolf Herr began his clock making in 1977 in Hornberg, Germany. With six generations of clock makers behind him, Adolf Herr’s son Juergen continues the family legacy where the family has built a reputation around the world for producing some of the finest cuckoo clocks available today.
With many beautiful designs centered around traditional German lifestyles, Herr cuckoo clocks are functional pieces of art that are sure to inspire anyone that spends time with them. From the iconic cuckoo sound to the majesty of the movements, an Adolf Herr cuckoo clock is sure to bring you and your family joy for years to come.
